The heat is here and with it all then temptations that go along with a living hell on earth. Is it just me or is it that the hotter it gets the more sins I can justify. Is it just me or in this heat does every problem situation and problem person look more and more devilish? Kids are imps and grannies look rabid. A line at the grocery store seems more like a line to the next pit. Maybe I just need to wear shorts and turn up the AC. Can you imagine that Good old Orpheus in Bermuda shorts sipping a mojito? Now that really sounds like hell. Well, here’s some tunes…

  • Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – SOB
  • Arthur Brown – Fire
  • Ronnie Hawkins – My Gal Is Red Hot

What news have we got goin’ on? The mask of the red death had descended on our peaceful country via a Washington man who visited Wuhan China. From China to Washington, good god man, I hope you at lease enjoyed a planned layover in Reno. Let’s see here, apparently, there is a president in the White house. Seems like half the people hate him and half the people love him. At first, this sounds a little par for the course, but then you have to take into consideration the dramatics of you mear mortals. In decades past when you loved or hated, it was more of a like dislike. Kinda a Marcus Aurelius Rome. Nowadays it seems half of you want to murder him and half want to sleep with him, did the founding fathers predict a Caligula phase of democracy? Well, we’ll put together some songs for you haters and for you lovers.

  • Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Spread Your Love
  • The Beach Boys – I Know There’s An Answer
  • Ned’s Atomic Dustbin – Grey Cell Green

The weather shows it’s the usual set of circumstances this year as they have. Each year is the same, but thanks to global warming, this time of year, it’s disturbingly more and more like the same. The west is like living on the surface of the sun, the north is like living in a headlock from a sweaty sasquatch and the south is at risk of getting flushed down a boiling electric-eel filled toilet from the sky that someone threw a toaster in. But at least we got beaches and now thanks to masks, you got something new to uncomfortably get sand stuck in.

  • The Cure – Hot Hot Hot!!!
  • The Velvet Underground – White Light/White Heat
  • Thunderclap Newman – Something In The Air

On a feel-good level, it appears that people are taking to the streets, out there fighting for rights, or fighting to keep other people from getting rights. It’s good to see that we can all agree on something, that rights are worth fighting about. Antifa, Protifa, can’t people see that deep down we all got a little fascist in us. So get out there and burn down a Walmart, or buy up their supply of beans. We’re all going to hell in a handbasket, but at least you still get to decide the mode of transportation.

  • Link Wray – Rumble
  • Billy Bragg & Wilco – My Thirty Thousand
  • The Troggs – I Can’t Control Myself

So that’s our show. Were going to close it out with… I know it’s been hard for a lot of you out there, having to see about how other people had a better chance in life, or having to listen to people want the stuff you have and don’t need, I mean, you bought it right? It’s up to you if you want to leave it in a back shed for 40 years so your kids can clean it out after your funeral. But in the end, you’ll all face the same fate. The cold sweet embrace of death. Well, the end is here for Orpheus here on WKIN Radio, and remember, the end comes for us all.
